Fashion that changes all the time and things that do not change.

FUTURA.KAWS

It seems like the trend of men's fashion in recent years can be largely divided into two.

On one hand are brands that strongly pursue its design, brand identity, and designer’s style while following the tradition of the classic “maison” style. Hedi Slimane's CELINE and Michele's GUCCI are symbolic examples of this.

On the other hand, are street brands that jump over the border of street fashion and cross into the “luxury maison” field. I have been noticing more luxury brands appointing designers influenced by the 90s Urahara culture in recent years. Their way to edit collections just as they would make mixtapes, could be taken as a reconstruction of street culture.
With all that in mind, I feel the most recent trend in fashion is the collaboration with contemporary art. FUTURA.KAWS is a typical example.

Among such collaborations with contemporary artists, personally, the collaboration of namacheko with Gregory Crewdson was one of the most impressive ones during the 20aw season. The flawless yet eerie works of Crewdson that got boldly transformed into double breasted coat and knit wear strongly reflected the current FASHION × ART trend.

Thinking back, semoh is a brand that has been capturing this mood of the present age before anyone, as one of the roots of its brand identity.

Masashi Ozawa. Tsukuda Hiroki. Saka Matsushita

The first ever semoh exhibition I saw was AW2015.

(At that time, most men's fashion was at the peak of norm core, with minimum, tech, and lifestyle as key terms.)

Constructively designed clothes that add sexiness and magically blend into the wearer.

“Avant-garde neutral wear.”
Perhaps a modern version of Pierre Cardin.
I strongly remember that semoh's approach was completely different from any other brand.

semoh has been continuing to collaborate with independent contemporary artists ever since.
Masashi Ozawa, Hiroki Tsukuda, Saka Matsushita- the works were all impressive.
Did semoh predict the trend?
No, it is probably Mr.Ueyama, the designer's natural instinct about the possibility of integrating art into fashion, the mutual respect and trust he has with the artists that make the collaboration a success every single time.

I secretly named this series of collaborations Semohtech.

Coexistence of contemporary art and clothing, interpreted by the Semohtech of semoh.

They are items that add new values ??to clothes and are not affected by the times.

Semohtech is constantly changing, deepening its colors every season. Many semoh-freaks must be looking forward to what kind of Semohtech will come out next.
There is no doubt that I am one of them.

Fashion that changes all the time and things that do not change.

semoh is a brand that certainly has both of them.
